Sim New York is progressing with each neighborhood little by little. I'm taking a quick break from my work on Downtown Manhattan to show some small details before the view gets blocked by skyscrapers under construction.
First we'll head to historical Pearl Street. We can see some of the quaint and charming 18th century buildings peeking out from behind 77 Water Street. The view will soon be blocked by 55 Water Street, which is right across the street. This area is located in the heart of the Financial District of Manhattan and is a stones throw away from Wall Street.
Next we head up to the South Street Seaport and take a look at the mural of the Brooklyn Bridge painted by Richard Haas on Peck Slip. Here's the real thing for comparison. The view is soon going to be blocked by One Seaport Plaza.
Enjoy the view while it lasts.

Google New York Takes Shape
Some of you already know about my other New York recreation project involving making a 3D model of New York in Google Earth.
By now Google Earth New York is taking shape thanks to the sudden surge of New York 3D models from talented modeler's at Google's 3D Warehouse. Here are a few of the recent additions.
American Folk Art Museum
The American Folk Art Museum is one of the leading centers for the study and of American folk art and displays the work of international artists. It is located at 45 West 53rd Street, between Fifth and Sixth Avenues, in Midtown.
Museum of Modern Art (MoMA)
Right next door to the American Folk Art Museum is the Museum of Modern Art.
It is one of the leading museums of modern art in the world. Its collection includes works of architecture and design, drawings, paintings sculpture, photography, film, and media.
In 2002 MoMA underwent a massive renovation to expand and create space for additional galleries. The museum temporarily moved to a location in Long Island City Queens (which was called MoMa QNS). Today an average of 2.5 million visitors flock to the new and improved MoMA.
Towering over MoMA is the luxury high rise residence Museum Tower built by Cesar Pelli in 1985. The tower was proposed to help pay for the museum renovations of 1976. To construct the controversial tower the museum's ventilation system had to be expanded, and some galleries had to undergo further renovations.
Radio City Music Hall
Radio City Music Hall is the world famous entertainment venue located in Rockefeller Center and is most commonly known for the Rockette dancers. For a time it was the leading tourist destination in New York.

Signs of Spring
Spring has sprung and signs of its arrival are all over the city.
Outside of the American Museum of Natural History on the Upper West Side trees along 79th Streets are starting to bud.
Fountains outside of the Seagram Building on Park Avenue have been turned on and flowers inside the planters on in the middle of Park Avenue are starting to blossom. It may be a bit chilly today but before you know it will be Summer.
Stay tuned for more and Happy Easter!

Winter Weather Lingers
Spring is here but it doesn't feel like Spring quite yet. Chilly weather still lingers over New York and much of eastern portion of the nation making it colder than average as seen by the commuters waiting for the Hudson-Bergen light rail train in Jersey City Friday morning.
Snow flurries even made a return appearance. Thankfully, the Big Apple is due for warmer temperatures this week.
